Build in Style Supports Women Build Project!
It is amazing to see how someone blooms when they finally believe in themselves, especially when they achieve something as monumental as a home for their family. When Laura first learned she had been selected as our Women Build partner, she was shocked. Having spent her life working hard to support everyone else, she wasn’t used to the spotlight.“There are days where I’m tired, exhausted,” Laura says. “And it’s just me, so I have to pick myself up. It’s nice to see that by being part of Women Build, I don’t have to pick myself up alone.”
Through the support of Build In Style, Laura is being empowered to achieve her dreams. Every ticket and purse sold raised the critical funds needed for her home. For women who may not feel comfortable on a construction site, Build In Style offers a creative way to show up for Laura.“I think people underestimate women,” Laura says. “So for all of us to come together for my house… it’s a big accomplishment. I’m honored to be part of it. As a single mom, you can feel like you’re alone, but you don’t feel like that anymore.”
Excavation has officially begun on her site, and the reality is setting in. “It has officially become real!” Laura shares. “I’m about to be a homeowner. I couldn’t be more excited.” This marks the 10th year of Build In Style. Thank you for proving that empowered women truly do build strong communities here in Summit County.
