Recap of 2024 Barberton Reborn
On September 20th and 21st, Habitat staff, partner families, and volunteers worked to beautify the 7th and 8th Street area of Barberton during Neighborhood Reborn. Our team- consisting of 43 people on Friday and 35 on Saturday- served 15 houses, completing projects including painting, weeding, planting flowers, mulching, trash removal, powerwashing, hedging, and more. Our team also painted trash cans around Lake Anna (Barberton Purple!) and will later install benches around that area. All services were free of charge to participating neighbors, thanks to our sponsors Barberton Community Foundation and Summit County Land Bank. Thank you to our volunteers for donating their time and energy, including Mayor William Judge, Carrie Herman and Kate DeAngelis from BCF, and Councilwoman Emily Beck. Thanks to our own Dan Metz and his wife Sarah for canvassing prior to the event, St. Augustine Church and School for hosting our volunteers, and to Papa Roni’s for feeding our team. Barberton is a community of pride and we had a blast serving this neighborhood!
