Local artist, Norman, built this beautiful piece for our ReStore Flip! Here is how to make your very own Lake Table!

The ReStore Flip is a quarterly event at the Summit County ReStore where local artists take a piece of furniture from the ReStore and “flip” it into something unique and new. Items are then in a week long Silent Auction during ReStore hours. Norman took an old side table and made it a piece of art!

Step #1

Create a second top (same size as the original) and cut out the lake shape with my saw on an angle.

Step #2

Route out the original top based on that shape. Glued sand and rocks in, then poured multiple layers of resin in.

Step #3

Color the first (lowest) layer with blue ink. (Tip: the next layer came out cloudy — I poured it too thick. But the final two are nice and clear.)

Step #4

Add a moulding around the edge to hide the layered tops.

Want to join the next ReStore flip?

In February, we will be taking the flipped items to the Great Big Home and Garden Show at the IX-Center to be in a Silent Auction during the event!
