Preserve a Home
expanding access to decent affordable homeownership through whole home rehabilitation
Existing homes are acquired and fully rehabbed before being sold to qualified partner families in Habitat’s homeownership program. Preserve a Home projects are sold on the same 30-year, zero interest mortgage terms as the news construction homes that Habitat is traditionally known for.
This program expands Habitat for Humanity’s ability to create affordable homeownership opportunities for families in our community by reducing the traditional construction time of a new home build. Habitat intends to ensure affordability of each home, and sustainability of the program by keeping acquistition and rehabilition expenses within a $100,000 scope per project.
