Silver Maple Ridge – Phase 2 Families
We are excited to announce the six partner families who will be a part of the phase 2 building process at Silver Maple Ridge. Emily (top left) and Tee (top right) are the first two families to begin the excavating process. Emily is our 2024 Women Build house built and funded by women in the Summit County community. In the following weeks, Aletta (middle left), Charmaine (middle right), Tasha (bottom left) , and Antoinette (bottom right) will start their foundations in the weeks to come.
“We will be building these in cycles. We’ll start the first six projects, then we will build another six and then we’ll build the final four. And the best part about this project is this land behind us has been approved by the city of Akron planning commission as the first new city of Akron park in over 40 years.” says Rochelle Sibbio, President and CEO of Habitat for Humanity of Summit County.
As these families start to prepare, their excitement continues to grow! They are working hard by taking homeownership classes, volunteering, and building their sweat equity in preparation for homeownership. This project will include 16 new, affordable homes and a new city of Akron Park. This will be the biggest project in Habitat for Humanity of Summit County’s history!
