Silver Maple Ridge – Phase I Families
We are excited to announce the first six partner families who will be a part of the phase I building process at Silver Maple Ridge. Donnie & Cierra and Irine (top pictures) are the first two families to start the excavating process over the last few weeks. In the following weeks, Farkhod & Manzurakhon, and Indra (middle), and then Amber & Stephen, and Laurenthia (bottom) will start their foundations as well.
“We will be building these in cycles. We’ll start the first six projects, then we will build another six and then we’ll build the final four. And the best part about this project is this land behind us has been approved by the city of Akron planning commission as the first new city of Akron park in over 40 years.” says Rochelle Sibbio, President and CEO of Habitat for Humanity of Summit County.
As these families start to prepare, their excitement continues to grow! They are working hard by taking homeownership classes, volunteering, and building their sweat equity in preparation for homeownership. This project will include 16 new, affordable homes and a new city of Akron Park. This will be the biggest project in Habitat for Humanity of Summit County’s history!
