Habitat for Humanity’s partnership with the Owens Corning Roof Deployment Program provides a new and safe roof to honorably discharged veterans and their surviving spouses at no cost to the veteran. Owens Corning provides the material at no cost and organizes Platinum Preferred Contractors who will donate the labor.
We are proud to support the veterans in our community, serving those who served our country. Thank you for your service.
Qualifications:
- Veteran meets income requirements as a Habitat for Humanity repair/build.
- Veteran passes both a sex offender and background check.
- Veteran has military discharge paperwork that states that they have a HONORABLE discharge from the service (with a copy to be included in the application).
- Habitat staff visit Veteran’s home and confirm if it is only a roofing need or if other work is needed prior (which would need to be covered outside of the Owens Corning program).
Disclaimer: Habitat requires an application and qualification through their system and once that occurs, we reach out to our Platinum Preferred Contractor network to see if they are available to participate. A nomination is just that. We will review every nomination we receive. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee or promise beyond that. There are several factors that determine whether a potential Roof Deployment Project candidate’s home will receive a new roof.
Veterans interested in participating should complete an application.
